Meet Your Hygienist

My name is Kayla Sawula, and I am an Independent Registered Dental Hygienist (IRDH) dedicated to delivering exceptional oral health care and patient education.

Originally from Thunder Bay, Ontario, I am proud to have planted my roots in the Ottawa Valley and to serve this incredible community. With over 15 years of experience in dental hygiene, I have developed a strong clinical foundation and a passion for helping individuals achieve and maintain optimal oral health.

I earned my Dental Hygiene diploma from Georgian College, where I built a solid foundation in both clinical care and patient-centered practice. Since then, I have continued to expand my knowledge through ongoing professional development and advanced training. I am an active member of the CDHO and CDHA, as well as a member of the DHPO, an organization that supports and advances Independent Dental Hygienists across Ontario.

At Ottawa Valley Smiles, my focus is on delivering a personalized and attentive dental hygiene experience. I take pride in building strong relationships with my patients by listening to their concerns, answering questions, and tailoring care to meet their individual needs. Whether you are visiting for a routine cleaning, periodontal therapy, or teeth whitening, you can expect thorough, evidence-based care with a compassionate approach.

I am especially passionate about patient education and the connection between oral health and overall well-being. My goal is to empower each patient with the knowledge and tools needed to take control of their oral health with confidence. By staying current with the latest advancements in dental hygiene and utilizing modern technology, I strive to provide the highest standard of care.

Outside of the clinic, I enjoy being actively involved in the Ottawa Valley community, attending local events, and spending time with my family. I am grateful for my supportive husband and our two young boys, who keep life busy and full of energy. As a family, we love exploring the beautiful natural surroundings of the region with our rescue dog.
